Week 4: More Gallery Posts

Your assignment for this week will also involve the Student-Blog I created for you guys to post on (see below for instructions)

We talked about Scalable Vector Graphics files (SVG), and how they can be enlarged without losing quality or proportion, and the assignment involves this concept.

Week 3: The Gallery

I've created a Vector Art Gallery / blog for your class at http://bascs8agallery.blogspot.com!

This time - YOU CAN POST!

Please check your personal / parents e-mail to accept the invitation to be able to post on the blog.

You will be posting the practice exercises, lesson tutorials - and any other images you've created in class or at home - to this blog.

By the end of the break, everyone should have posted at least 4 images to this blog.

I would prefer to see your practice sketches and drawings, but you can even post legitimate, school-appropriate vector images that you find on the internet. I will still give you some credit!

Click here to create your first post! (You must be logged in with the appropriate account first - check your e-mail to accept my invite!)

*** IMPORTANT: PLEASE E-MAIL ME OVER THE BREAK IF YOU HAVE TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES ***

*** ALSO IMPORTANT: PLEASE SEE ME AFTER SCHOOL IF YOU WOULD LIKE HELP WITH EXPORTING OR USING THE BLOG ***

Week 2 Homework: Inking The Scape

Answer the following questions. Do not repeat answers of the students above you or you will lose points.

1. Give one (1) example of another "open source" software.

2. "Inkscape" is a unique name for a graphics program. It evokes significant imagery and is catchy. It comes from the words "ink" and "landscape", which, it can be considered, are related to computer graphics in a way.

Come up with your own creative, original name for a graphics program.

Welcome To The World: Week 1 Homework

Here is the first post.

Please respond to the following:

In a recent interview, journalist Robert Levine, author of Free Ride , responded to the anti-S.O.P.A. crowd by saying this:

Free speech is very important in the U.S. It’s a more important value than copyright. In most countries it is. But there’s an argument on the other side. There’s a great quote by Justice Sandra Day O’Connor that says: “The Framers intended copyright itself to be the engine of free expression. By establishing the marketable right to the use of one’s expression, copyright supplies an economic incentive to create and disseminate.” That’s a pretty powerful argument on the other side.

Respond to the quote in your own words. What does it mean? Do you agree or disagree?
